Cloud Engineer

We are hiring a Cloud Engineer who is proactive, able to manage time in a remote environment, and is responsible deploying and troubleshooting Azure cloud stacks, educating internal teams on new cloud initiatives, ensuring the security of the cloud infrastructure. To be successful as a Cloud Engineer, you should be able to identify the most optimal solutions and maintain cloud infrastructure in accordance with Microsoft and industry accepted best practices and company security policies. You must be willing to work in tandem with your manager to learn new skills, stay current with industry trends, and be a team player.

This role reports to the Manager of Cloud Infrastructure.

 

 

Your responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with all company teams to evaluate and identify optimal solutions on the Azure cloud
  • Participate in the evaluation of new solutions to meet business requirements
  • Use market research and lean on experience to obtain ideas for new solutions
  • Modifying and improving existing systems
  • Educating teams on the implementation of new cloud technologies and initiatives.
  • Deploying modular cloud-based systems
  • Developing and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with best practices
  • Monitor and scale and fine-tune cloud services to support our growing customer base
  • Ensuring efficient functioning of data storage and processing functions in accordance with company security policies and best practices in cloud security
  • Identifying, analyzing, and resolving infrastructure vulnerabilities and application deployment issues
  • Regularly reviewing existing systems and making recommendations for improvements
  • Interacting with internal customers, providing cloud support, and making recommendations based on the growing needs of the business

 

Required Experience/Skills:

  • 2 - 3 years of experience in the field of cloud computing
  • Understanding of Azure cloud regions, Azure compute resources, and TCP/IP Virtual Network infrastructure
  • Experience deploying, monitoring, and scaling Azure-based micro-services based on demand.
  • Understanding of Azure Portal navigation, AAD, Application Registrations, Azure Storage
  • Troubleshooting and analytical skills, with the ability to document and produce detailed problem reports
  • Understanding of Microsoft cloud services and their relationships Microsoft 365, Microsoft Power Platform
  • The ability to work collaboratively
  • Comfortable communicating with peers and customers
  • Fluent in the English language

 

Education and Experience:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • Exam AZ-900: Microsoft Azure Fundamentals

 

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP)
  • Experience with Azure Applications Insight
  • Understanding of Microsoft Licensing
