User Experience Writer

We are hiring a UX Writer with a thorough understanding of product behavior and the day-to-day life of customers. Among other responsibilities, you will document the daily use and best practice workflow recommendations for customers, playing a key role in creating and updating Mekorma user guides, release notes and knowledge base items. One of your talents is translating technical messages into clear statements that even non-technical consumers can understand, while communicating user experience evaluation of ways the products can be enhanced back to the technical team.

This role will collaborate with multiple teams in Mekorma contributing to a coherent and consistent user experience vision across teams and products. This role is also responsible for aligning business, brand, naming, messaging, and design strategies using their expertise across the broad domain of product and customer communications inside or outside of Mekorma.

Reports to the Acumatica Practice Manager.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

User Experience & Technical Writing

  • Develop and maintain User Guide documentation and release notes for the Mekorma products. 
  • Support the Content Development team with information and review of blogs and articles. 
  • Develop scripts for training and marketing videos for the purpose of user education. 
  • Participate in the product release testing process to help validate the seamless release process and clarity/thoroughness of release notes.
  • Work with the product design team to understand up-and-coming changes and additions, and plan work accordingly.
  • Develop and maintain a strategy, including templates and processes, to ease our team’s ability to document requirements and design decisions.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to recommend User Experience centric changes and improvements considering user experience best practices as well as experience designs used in other Mekorma offerings.

 

Customer Business Process Evaluation

  • Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of user experiences in their day-to-day duties as relevant to Mekorma products and related business processes.
  • Evaluate Mekorma products from a user’s perspective and document the impact the product will have on their experience and the business process.
  • Evaluate Mekorma product design and releases with specific consideration to business process fit.
  • Give feedback to the development team about user experiences that are not intuitive. Maintain ethic of “simple software processes that document themselves”.
  • Arrange and facilitate online workshops with users at customer companies together with Mekorma people.

 

Quality Assurance

  • Review product specifications/requirements and develop user experience content.
  • Review Engineering test plans and develop user experience content.
  • Perform user-centric testing and test development for confirming user experience, or implementation level knowledge of the product. 

 

Internal Process

  • Assist with improving internal and external communication patterns and setting written communication best practices for team members through training and collaboration sessions.

 

We expect you to have:

  • Proven ability to write user-centric software documentation in US English
  • Proven ability to bring product engineering, business processes, brand strategy and creative expression together and into experiences that are meaningful, exciting, and effective
  • Leadership and collaboration skills on assigned initiatives/projects with stakeholders across teams
  • Task prioritization and communication skills in working across teams and with leaders
  • 4+ years of experience writing user experience software product documentation, preferable ERP centric
  • Strong conceptual skills, lateral thinking, and creative problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience in brand identity development and integration
  • Command of written US English language
