A Dream Job, 90 Days In

Vincent Wilson , Business Central Software Engineer Jun 10, 2026 Mekorma

“Dream job.” Those were the words I used when I was asked to sum up my experience so far with Mekorma. I know it may sound cliché, or perhaps even a little cheesy, but those were truly the first words that came to mind.

When I think back on my first 90 days, those two words still feel like the most honest way to describe the experience. Starting a new role always comes with a mix of excitement, nerves, uncertainty, and hope.

You want to make a good impression.
You want to prove that the company made the right decision in hiring you.
You want to find your place, learn quickly, contribute meaningfully, and become part of something bigger than yourself.

For me, those first 90 days at Mekorma have been all of that and more.

I had high expectations for my new role as a Business Central Software Engineer at Mekorma. I have worked for great companies in the past, but even from a distance, it was clear that Mekorma was different. As an ISV specializing in the Accounts Payable space, Mekorma made a name for itself long ago. Many companies might have become complacent after that kind of success, but Mekorma continues to push the envelope by expanding the capabilities of its current offerings and broadening the ERPs it supports.

That kind of continued growth does not happen by accident. It takes vision, discipline, creativity, and a willingness to keep improving even when something is already working well.

Before joining Mekorma, I could already see that this was a company that cared deeply about the products it built and the customers it served. I expected to join a team that took its work seriously, valued quality, and understood the responsibility that comes with delivering solutions customers rely on every day.

Because of this, I was prepared for the exceptional work ethic and dedication required from a company’s employees to consistently provide such excellent products and services. What I was not prepared for was the closeness and connection that were so evident among Mekorma’s employees.

Many companies like to talk about being a family or putting their people first. Those phrases can sound good on a website or in an interview, but they do not always show up in everyday work life. At Mekorma, it is different. While Mekorma never told me it was a people-first company; it was clear from my very first week.

From the beginning, I was welcomed in a way that felt genuine. So many people introduced themselves to me and wished me luck in my new position that there was no way I could possibly remember them all.

I received countless offers of assistance with anything I might need, both from within my team and beyond it. People took time out of their own schedules to answer questions, explain processes, share context, and make sure I never felt like I had to figure everything out alone.

That kind of support makes a huge difference when you are starting somewhere new. There is always a lot to take in during the first few weeks: new systems, new processes, new products, new people, and new expectations. It can be overwhelming, even in the best circumstances. But at Mekorma, I never felt like I was left to sink or swim. Instead, I felt like I had an entire group of people around me who genuinely wanted me to succeed.

Then, once the work really started, I quickly learned that these were not empty offers. I had more help than I knew what to do with, and it was not just me. I have never seen a team work so well together. Whenever our team manager sent out a request to see if someone was able to assist another, it felt like the entire team saw it as a call of duty to respond. In this team, we never left anybody down if we could get them back up.

That stood out to me immediately. It is one thing to say that a team supports one another; it is another thing to see it happen in real time. At Mekorma, people do not hesitate to step in.

They share knowledge freely.
They ask thoughtful questions.
They celebrate progress.
They help remove obstacles.
They care not only about the work being done, but also about the people doing the work.

Over the past 90 days, I have seen what collaboration looks like when it is truly part of a team’s culture. It is not about one person having all the answers. It is about bringing different perspectives together, trusting one another, and working toward a shared goal. That kind of environment makes you want to contribute your best, because you know your efforts matter and you know the people around you are doing the same.

I have also been impressed by the balance Mekorma seems to strike between high standards and genuine care for its people. The work is meaningful, and the expectations are real, but the support is just as real. There is a strong sense of ownership and accountability, but it does not come at the expense of kindness or understanding. That combination is rare, and it is something I have come to appreciate more and more with each passing week.

Over the past 90 days, I have been given all the support I could possibly need to perform at my best. I have become part of a close-knit team that constantly elevates and supports one another. I have also been given the opportunity to grow my career in whatever direction and shape I choose.

That last part means a lot to me.

Career growth is not just about titles, promotions, or checking boxes. It is about being in an environment where you are encouraged to keep learning, to ask questions, to challenge yourself, and to become better at what you do.

At Mekorma, I feel like I have been given both the space and the encouragement to grow. I feel trusted. I feel supported. I feel like my future here is not limited to a single path, but open to possibility.

Looking back, my first 90 days have been more than just an onboarding period. They have been a confirmation that I made the right choice. They have shown me the kind of company Mekorma is, not just through words, but through actions. They have shown me what it looks like when a company truly values its people, its products, and its customers.

My first 90 days have shown me exactly what is possible when you work for a company that truly has your best interests at heart. I cannot wait to see what my future at Mekorma holds, because this is a dream I never want to wake up from.
